Is this a closed campus school?
Yes, we are, as we look out for the safety of our students.
Are we allowed to wear our hats at school?
Yes, you are allowed to wear your hat at school, so long as it is appropriate and does not impede classroom instruction. Students will remove their hats when asked by a staff member.
Are there lockers that students can use?
There will not be lockers; not using lockers these past two years have significantly reduced the amount of bullying in the hallways and during class transitions. The majority of our classes have moved instructional resources to Google classrooms with the exception of math and options so this has reduced the amount of items students need to bring to class.
What sports teams do you have?
We have cross-country running, mountain biking, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track and field.
Do you have House Teams and collect house points?
Yes, we currently have four house teams and they work to earn points monthly.
Do you have a student council?
Yes, we have a student council made up of grades 7 and 8 students. They plan monthly wellness and community based activities for the students.
Will you change the name of the school?
Yes! We have already started that process and you can provide input on this site. We will also have a new logo, sports team name and mascot, colours and more!
Do you have a concession or hot lunch?
Yes, the concession consists of snack foods (beef jerky, veggie straws). Hot Lunch can be ordered through School Cash (BP, Express Pizza, Booster Juice, Dominos…)
Do students eat in the classroom or common area?
We eat in the classroom for a few reasons: there is not enough space for everyone in one common area, it gets loud, and it is easier on our custodial staff.
